In the light

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light (1 Pet 2:9) 

I love the effect of direct sunlight on objects and try to incorporate it into most of my paintings.

The light on this pomegranate has a double meaning. Except for all the wonderful symbolism of pomegranates that can come to mind, this one is cloaked in light.

We will never be able to grow into spiritual maturity without the Light. The more time spent in His presence, the more we become aware of the shadows. This is a privilege, because we can then deal with it. It’s an on-going process – our of darkness into perfect light.
